Pathfinders

About this study

Our current study is “Trajectory,” based on Genesis 3:15.

Isaiah is one of the best-known Old Testament prophets. Much of Handel’s Messiah comes from the prophecies Isaiah received. But Isaiah was also the prophet ministering to King Hezekiah. He was there when the troops of the King of Assyria, who had already conquered and deported much of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, were threatening to do the same to the Southern Kingdom of Judah.

Isaiah brings a message of hope to King Hezekiah. We will see King Hezekiah’s relationship with Isaiah on full display, as well as the Lord’s mercy as he grants the king 15 more years of life and points to the coming Babylonian captivity. We will then return to 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles to finish the time after Hezekiah and Isaiah, bringing us to the prophet Jeremiah, who weeps over the coming dispersion.
