Here are some wonderful service opportunities at NLPC.
To volunteer, or for more information, please use the contact information in the entry, or call the church office at 352-753-8484.
Love, INC.
Love In the Name of Christ
Love INC provides a variety of services, including housing assistance and help with utilities and emergency funds.
The summer has left us short on people in order to help those in need around our community.
Volunteers are needed to conduct interviews on the phone. Scripts for the interviews will be provided.
Hours to choose from for volunteers are Monday-Friday 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Please call Love INC Clearinghouse @ 352-245-8774.
Thank you in advance for helping.

Courtyard Ministry
The Courtyard Ministry, under the direction of Rae Nowe, is looking for bakers and hosts for the coming year. She is busy setting up the teams. Please sign up at the Welcome Center or call Rae with the service you attend.
Coffee and goodies after the service is a great way to get to know other NLPC members. You can reach Rae at 259-1488 or ednowe@aol.com.
BINGO
Volunteers needed to help with Bingo at Mayfield Nursing Home in Leesburg the 4th Sunday of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. For more information, please call Dot Casleton 750-9205.
Dine Out For Operation Homebound
Help Operation Homebound while enjoying meals out at your favorite restaurants. Learn more here.
Special Event Volunteers
We are recruiting male and female volunteers of all ages for the Traffic Control Ministry . Be a part of NLPC's safety and hospitality program while providing first contact with attendees at special events, greeting and directing pedestrian and vehicular traffic. You will need to be on your feet 60± minutes with breaks. If you are younger than 14, you will be paired with an adult.
Equipment (2-way radios, "NLPC Safety" reflective vests, flashlights with traffic wands) and traffic control training will be provided prior to each event. Traffic Control Ministers will receive complimentary admission to the special events they support. Write "TC" or "Traffic Control" along with all your contact information on a communication card and place it with your offering or drop it off in the office. Questions can be directed to Jim Coleman at 750-5644 or jfcoleman@embarqmail.com.
Mission Trip to the Mountaintop - Oct. 6-9, 2011
Missed our first Mission Trip to the Mountain Top last year? Then join us this year the weekend of October 6-9. Contact Becky Bros or call 352-753-8484.
Buddy System
The Buddy System has the most amazing group of volunteers! They go into the homes or place of residence to be a friend to those who are lonely, need emotional support, or to be just a friendly face that cares about those in need.
We encourage everyone to consider becoming one of our “buddies”. Those who are involved in this ministry are receiving such a blessing.
If you know of anyone who is lonely and needs someone to check in on them and become a friend (buddy), please call Brenda West, 430-3322 or Marilyn Waites, 245-6638.
Toby's Angels
We invite anyone who would like to be someone’s “Angel” to join our ministry. We visit nursing homes and assisted living facilities next to our church every Tuesday morning between 9:30 and 11:00.
If you would like more information on Toby’s Angels, please contact Carolyn at 753-7778 or 406-8073.
Transportation Ministry
For those who are in need of transportation to the doctor or other essential needs, or those who'd like to volunteer, call Vivian Harden (753-0339).
