About Operation Homebound:
Operation Homebound is a 12-year mission of North Lake Presbyterian Church that provides hot, nutritionally balanced meals each weekday. We do this because our recipients are unable to prepare their own meals, due mostly to physical and ambulatory limitations.
In 1998, community volunteers began preparing and delivering 14 meals daily; we now serve 175–200 meals daily, working in the same small kitchen. We want to be able to meet the growing requests from physicians, social service agencies and the community for this program. To meet future needs, the church is committed to building and equipping a new kitchen. Once completed, the new kitchen will have the capacity to expand this ministry to 400 plus meals daily.
